WhatsApp will soon let you send messages to yourself

Telegram has long offered the option to send messages to yourself. WhatsApp will follow. The function can be seen in screenshots. And that’s more convenient than you might think in the first case.

WhatsApp: send messages to yourself

In newly published screenshots we see a function that WhatsApp is working on. It is an option that allows users to send messages to themselves. Secretly, it is a function that can come in handy for many on a daily basis. Now, for example, groups are created on WhatsApp as an alternative, where you then only remain yourself. That way you can send an app to yourself. So that cumbersomeness comes to an end.

Just like with chat service Telegram, there will be an option to send messages to yourself via WhatsApp. Useful for saving memories, sharing links for later or for other content. That way you don’t have to work with other apps or come up with other cumbersome ways. It can also be used to exchange (small) files between different devices. This is because WhatsApp can be used on different devices.

For now, the functionality has only surfaced in the beta version of the green-colored chat app. Sending a message to yourself is easy. Just like composing a message to someone else, tap the pencil at the bottom right. Then you see yourself there as a contact. It can be interesting to ‘pin’ this chat, with which you pin it at the top of the screen.

This week we wrote that WhatsApp now lets you hide your online status.
