WhatsApp is working on secure backups (screenshots)

For some time now, messages have been circulating about the backup functionality in WhatsApp. WhatsApp was busy securing the Google Drive backup. Now that seems to be at an advanced stage.

Almost a year ago, the messages came out about an encrypted backup function of WhatsApp. Images have now appeared showing that WhatsApp will offer the possibility to secure backups.

This includes the Google Drive backup, where your message history is stored online in your Google account. You can only unlock the backup with the password of your choice. Only you know it and it is not shared with WhatsApp. This also means that if you forget the password, you will no longer be able to access your backup.

At this time, it is not known when WhatsApp will roll out the secure backup option.
