What are the suitable alternatives for the chat application?

As you may have noticed, there has been a relatively large debate about the WhatsApp chat tool recently. Therefore, the question arises as to whether it is appropriate to continue to use it or whether it is better to find an alternative.

There are many alternatives to WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger

We recently posted an article on the web that summarizes the topic of WhatsApp and data sharing terms modifications in more detail. WhatsApp regulates the conditions of data sharing with Facebook. These changes should cover up to three areas:

  1. WhatsAppom data processing method
  2. Manage messages from WhatsApp and Facebook businesses
  3. Upcoming connection of the WhatsApp app, together with the Facebook platform

The changes are supposed to take effect at the beginning of February 8, 2021. Facebook thus wants to connect the application with a gigantic social network precisely for a deeper connection of services. A year ago, a feature was added to WhatsApp that allowed you to disable data sharing with Facebook. Now, however, this is no longer the case, and the new terms of use include agreeing to share quite a lot of data with the social network.

Many used the app mainly because they didn’t want to have anything to do with the scandals filled with Facebook. Well, now it will be their duty if people want to continue using WhatsApp services. So if the issue of privacy on social networks is important to you, it’s good to know which chat applications collect more data and which less.

The safest chat application is, of course, Signal

Four very popular applications – Signal, iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger were rated by 9to5mac. We also have a separate article on this topic on our website. The signal does not collect any information about the user, it only knows your phone number, but it does not associate with your identity. iMessage is then its own communication tool from the American giant Apple. It only collects four basic pieces of information, such as email addresses, phone number, search history, and your device ID.

WhatsApp is a bit worse and is said to collect almost four times what iMessage does. Facebook Messenger is ultimately a category in itself, and you might not even believe what it knows about you. The above comparison picture expresses this beautifully and concisely. What is your opinion on this issue? Do you plan to stop using WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger? Report in the survey and you can write in the comments which app suits you best.
