Volume Panel Pro makes your volume bar more attractive

If you want to turn up the volume of, for example, a OnePlus phone, you simply press the volume keys on the side. You then only get one option, unless you press the three dots. If you prefer to immediately see three volume bars on the screen, you can opt for Volume Panel Pro, for example. This App of the Week also lets you set the color of the bars yourself.

Downloading Volume Panel Pro is done in no time, although you have to pay 1.09 euros to purchase the app. You do not have to log in: the app only wants to have various permissions. However, they all affect the operation of the app, which makes it seem quite logical. After all, volume controls must be able to work across apps and you must also give permission for this app to take over your volume at all.

It takes a while to set all that up, but the app takes you very well in how to do that, so that you can arrange it quite easily in the end. You can then set anything and everything in the app. Unfortunately, the design of the app itself leaves much to be desired. If you tap at the bottom, you suddenly come to the Twitter profile of the maker. As far as user experience is concerned, this app is therefore somewhat out of balance. There is a small tutorial to help you find out how and what, but it is immediately placed over the app like a shell, without you having seen it, so that you are more inclined to just slide it away.

Bit off balance

Volume Panel Pro is therefore not perfect in terms of structure, but it is in terms of operation. You get the chance to set all kinds of sliders to adjust the volume of, for example, your ringtone or the media. You can choose all kinds of colors and shapes, so that it fits perfectly with the visual style that you use on your phone. It is even possible to make a kind of shortcut that can always be seen as a small ball on the screen, although I did not find that very practical: just pressing your volume button is enough. If you are then listening to a song on Spotify, you can easily lift the volume slider.

If you want to give your volume button a big boost, Volume Panel Pro is definitely worth the 1.09 euros. It is an app that you need to get to know in order to really get the most out of it, but people who like to have a lot of control over how their phone works and displays will appreciate this app. If you are not into that, Volume Panel Pro does not offer enormous added value and you better ignore it.
