Instagram has useful features to manage comments on your posts. For example, there is an option with which you can easily pin a response. Then the only question remains: how do you use the function? We will explain that in this article.

Instagram comments

Depending on how many followers you have, it can sometimes be difficult to read through all the comments on your Instagram posts. This also applies to your followers, who cannot see the forest for the trees. Fortunately, that can be solved with a handy function in the app, and both Android and iOS users can make use of it.

Instagram wants to promote positivity on the platform with the feature. Account owners can make sure that negative comments are less likely to appear – of course, a negative comment can be removed, but that will not always fix the problem. Pinning positive responses at the top will allow more people to respond to those responses and could create a positive atmosphere.

A total of three messages can be stored; pinning is possible for own posts, or posts from followers. This tip article will also cover how you can delete multiple comments under posts.

How does it work?

Follow the steps below to pin comments to your Instagram post:

1. Open the Instagram post where you would like to pin comments
2. Press and hold the message until the top bar of Instagram turns blue
3. Click on the ‘pin’ icon to pin a message
4. Click on ‘pin comment‘in the notification that Instagram displays

Follow the steps below to delete multiple comments under your Instagram post. Please note, these steps are final, it is no longer possible to retrieve the responses later:

1. Open the Instagram post where you want to delete (multiple) comments
2. Press and hold the first comment you want to delete until the bar turns blue again
3. Repeat these steps for any comments you would like to delete
4. Then click on the trash can icon to delete all responses

After the comments have been deleted, the people can of course return and respond again under your message. Pinning messages can be a solution for this. After pinning, a ‘pinned’ indication appears with the messages, so that everyone knows that the messages are pinned.
