Two Macs not yet marketed appear on Steam
Two Macs, not yet announced by Apple and even less marketed, have appeared on Steam. Valve’s famous game store offers a monthly survey to find out some information, including the machines most used by players on the platform.
Steam’s survey for November 2022 lists several Macs, including a Mac14.6 model and a Mac15.4 model. Neither have been made official by Apple yet. Their usage share is 0%. The list also reveals that the most used Apple computer on the play store is the MacBook Pro with a share of 48.27%. The MacBook Air comes in behind with 29.99%, then the iMac with 11.10%.
Where are the two new Macs coming from? Chances are that Apple tests various apps to make sure its computers run smoothly in general, and Steam is part of the test. This is also good news for gamers, showing that Apple is interested in gaming.
Regarding the models, this is not the first time we have heard of the Mac14.6. Indeed, he recently made headlines with two GeekBench tests, with the M2 Max chip. It is currently difficult to determine which exact model it is, but it is possible that it is the future MacBook Pro of 14 or 16 inches.
According to the latest rumors, Apple will introduce new Macs in the first quarter of 2023. It will be 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M2 Pro and M2 Max chips, as well as a Mac mini with the M2 chip.
