Twitter France boss Damien Viel leaves office
Damien Viel, managing director of Twitter France, announced that he was leaving his post on the social network, without specifying whether this departure was his decision or not, after “seven incredible and intense years”.
“Pride, honor and mission accomplished. Goodbye #twitterfrance. What an adventure! Which team ! What encounters! »he was still content to tweet.

His previous message went up to November 4 when Twitter, acquired by Elon Musk shortly before, had started a global wave of layoffs. “All my thoughts, respect, energy and love to tweeters around the world today. We’ve built the most amazing app on the planet together,” he wrote thus.
This departure comes as the future of Twitter seems uncertain after a week as turbulent as the previous ones, between new bleeding of the workforce and restoration of Donald Trump’s account.
Before being appointed boss of Twitter France in 2015, Damien Viel was YouTube’s sales director for Southern Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He had started in the marketing department of L’Oréal, then had notably managed the advertising agency Carat France before becoming deputy director of M6 Publicité, the advertising agency of the M6 group.
