A paid offer called Twitter Blue was unintentionally confirmed by the social network. A mention to a monthly subscription was unearthed in the source code of the software.
In recent weeks, the social network Twitter has been struggling to find new sources of income. First it is the creators who can now create their own sponsored tweets where subscribers must pay to access the content. To compete with Clubhouse’s success, Twitter even created Spaces, an online chat room between users. It was engineer Manchun Wong who found and was able to test Twitter Blue before anyone else by becoming the first customer of the service before its release.
Twitter Blue even allows you to cancel a tweet and offers a simplified mode for reading Threads
Twitter’s paid plan will cost a subscription of $ 2.99 per month. The application was found in the source code of the social network via the App Store where Manchun Wong was able to test this premium version. To do this, it had to pay to find out what features are built into Blue. On her personal account, she shares her discoveries. Among the screenshots taken, we can see that the paid version offers to cancel a tweet within 5 seconds. A function still impossible at present on the social network but it is not the only addition.

Among the additions present on the paid version, a more advanced customization mode is allowed for subscribers. It is thus possible to decline Twitter on Pink, Green or Orange themes. A simplified reading mode would also be at your disposal. This would make it easier to read threads. For the moment, Twitter Blue is in beta test, so some additions may be made before the official release of this premium version.
