Twitter becomes “X” – otherwise nothing changes

Apparently, the Twitter brand has had its day. Because new owner Elon Musk wants to rename the short message service to “X”. Musk’s favorite letter already adorns the new Twitter logo in some places. Will the name and domain follow?

Elon Musk bought back the X.com domain from PayPal in 2017. Now it is to replace the previous domain “Twitter.com”.

“X” is known to be the favorite letter of Twitter’s new owner Musk. Because the letter is not only found in his aerospace company SpaceX, but also in his new AI company “xAI”.

Of course, Elon Musk announced the innovation via Twitter or X himself. In one announcement It says he wants to “soon say goodbye to the Twitter brand and gradually to all birds.”

Musk has already posted the preliminary logo on the platform. In a GIF, the old Vogel logo can be seen at first, then the new X appears.

The staff was informed shortly beforehand

Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino also has the new logo already posted. She writes: “X is here! Let’s do this.” After Elon Musk renamed the company Twitter to X Holdings some time ago, the associated platform is now following suit.

As reported by Platformer editor Zoe Schiffer, Twitter employees were informed of the change in the evening. Elon Musk told the workforce that the company would be renamed X. He announced in an email that this would be the last he ever sent from a Twitter address.

Where did the new Twitter logo come from?

The GIF with the new logo for Twitter comes from the user Sawyer Merritt. The X used in it now also adorns the website of the social network.

Elon Musk’s profile picture now also consists of the letter. The minimalist X can also be seen behind his Twitter handle and that of CEO Yaccarino.

However, it shouldn’t stay that way. Because like Elon Musk announcedchanges are planned to further refine the design.
