Sony’s Playstation Studios are not yet through with the 2021 shopping tour. Now, with Bluepoint Games, they have incorporated the developer of popular Playstation games such as “Demon’s Souls”.

The developers of the action role-playing game “Demon’s Souls” for the Playstation 5 are now on the Sony payroll. Sony’s Playstation Studios have bought Bluepoint Games. The Japanese entertainment group now owns 15 previously free game studios. Neither Sony nor Bluepoint have given any information about the purchase price – the parties have agreed not to disclose.

Cooperation already 15 years old

Like Sony in a message lets know that Bluepoint Games is not only interesting because of the strong remake titles such as “Shadow of the Colossus” for the Playstation 4 or the popular “Demon’s Souls” for the PS5. Rather, Bluepoint would also work its own interesting games.

Playstation Studios and Bluepoint Games have known each other well and for a long time. The studios have been working together for 15 years. Already in June it looked as if Sony had bought Bluepoint. Accidentally, when Sony took over Housemarque at the time, a picture was uploaded in which Sony had welcomed Bluepoint to the Playstation family instead of Housemarque.

Apparently, the takeover talks with Bluepoint were already at a stage that could have resulted in such a picture at any time. Even after the takeover, Bluepoint Games will continue to be run under its own name and by the same management. In addition to Bluepoint Games, Sony recently acquired Housemarque in June and Firespite, developer of “The Playroom”, in September.
