try this alternative (and it’s even more fun too)

RealityScan allows you to 3D scan objects with your iPhone. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to try the app at the moment. That doesn’t matter, because we have a great alternative to RealityScan: the MetaScan app makes 3D scanning even more fun!

Read on after the ad.

The RealityScan app from Epic Games makes it possible to scan real objects with the iPhone’s camera and convert them into 3D models. To try out the app, you must first gain access through Testflight with an invitation.

Unfortunately, at this moment all 10,000 invitations have been issued and it is therefore no longer possible to try the app. But we have good news, because there is a RealityScan alternative that allows you to 3D scan real objects just as easily.

The MetaScan app has a similar function to Realityscan, which allows you to scan objects or even your entire living room. It is not new as there are more apps that have this feature. But MetaScan just does it a lot faster and it’s more fun too. The end result is very cool, but at times still a bit ‘uncanny’.
