Safari’s built-in website translation feature on your iPhone can only convert the text to English. Are you not very good at English? Or do you want a different language? Then there is another way to convert websites.

You do this with the app Website Translator. The beauty of this app is that you can also convert the website from Safari with it. In addition, this app also has the option to translate the website into Dutch (or another language).

After downloading the app, you have to launch it once to set the language. Select ‘Google’ under ‘Translation engine’ and ‘Dutch’ under ‘What language do you speak’. You can also choose another language instead of Dutch. After that, the app (actually a Safari extension) is ready to use.

  • Open the websites you want to translate;
  • Tap the share icon (this is the square with the arrow);
  • Scroll down the list and choose ‘Translate website’;
  • Wait a while for the website to reload, then it will take a while before the text is converted.
