This is Samsung’s solution for better battery life on Galaxy S23

Samsung Galaxy S23 is coming. Samsung is usually quite early in the year in terms of launching a new device, so we already think we know a lot about the upcoming flagship. Now we think we know how Samsung ensures that the battery life of the Galaxy S23 is better.

Samsung Galaxy S23

It is already known that Samsung is adjusting the battery size considerably on the Galaxy S23 and the Galaxy S23+. A battery of 4,700 mAh for the S23+ and 3,900 mAh for the Galaxy S23 is expected. That is 200 mAh more than the predecessor. The S23 Ultra retains the same battery size as the Galaxy S22 Ultra. However, Samsung has another trick up its sleeve with which it plans to extend battery life. That is important, because with TikTok, among other things, the battery of a smartphone often goes very fast, in addition to social media, WhatsApp and of course taking photos and videos. A little help with the battery is therefore certainly desirable.

Samsung wants to improve that for its new flagship. It wants to do that by bringing the Light Mode profile that it introduced with Galaxy Z Fold 4 to the new device. This profile ensures that the battery life takes precedence over the performance of the device. niverseIce (via Sammobile) says that the performance does not even decrease that much, but that the energy consumption does go down considerably.

Light Mode

The Light Mode is not the same as the Power Saving Mode. In the energy-saving mode, the performance of the device does drop. Even gaming on the device would cause few performance problems in Light Mode. Something we probably owe to the chip: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Of course we can’t wait to experience this ourselves, but for that we will have to have a lot of patience. Samsung Galaxy S23 is not expected until February 24, 2023.
