The average hourly wage in Germany was in April 2022 according to the Federal Statistical Office at 24.77 euros. With an average working time of around 38 hours per week, this results in an average gross monthly salary of 4,105 euros.

Part-time employees earned an average hourly wage of 20.42 euros. With an average working week of around 24 hours, this results in an average gross monthly income of 2,147 euros.

What factors affect income?

According to the Federal Statistical Office However, the hourly wage in Germany also depends heavily on the level of education and the respective industry.

In April 2022, full-time employees with completed vocational training earned an average of EUR 3,521 gross. For employees without a completed apprenticeship, the number was 2,817 euros.

Employees with a master craftsman, technician or technical school qualification earned an average of 4,826 euros per month. With a bachelor’s degree, the figure was 4,551 euros, a master’s degree yielded around 6,188 euros.
