These Samsung Galaxy S23 camera features are not coming to the Galaxy S22
The Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra have launched with One UI 5.1 including several new camera features. Many of those features are coming to other Samsung phones, but some are not. These camera features are not coming to the Galaxy S22.
Camera features not coming to the Galaxy S22
In a post on the Samsung Community forum (via Sammobile), a moderator responsible for camera updates has indicated which camera functions of the Galaxy S23 will not be coming to the Galaxy S22. These are 360 Audio Recording and the 50 MP/100 MP high resolution photos with the Expert RAW app. 360 Audio Recording allows you to realistically capture the sound in a video. That works, among other things, with the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro as you can read here.

The moderator gave the reason for 360 Audio Recording that Samsung simply has no plans to bring this feature to the S22 series. The Galaxy S22 also cannot take high-resolution photos of 100 MP via the Expert RAW. This is due to performance and memory limitations, according to the moderator. And for taking 50 MP photos, the S22 Ultra’s 108 MP sensor doesn’t have enough resolution. The sensor does not support 4-in-1 pixel binning to capture images at 50 MP.

While the Galaxy S22 series doesn’t get everything the S23 has in terms of cameras, the flagships did get another very interesting camera feature in April, namely the Image Clipper for the Gallery app. With Image Clipper you can automatically cut objects from a photo and turn them into a sticker.
