these products are still coming

There will be another keynote from Apple this fall. But what is presented then? We’ll tell you all about the products and software that we still have credit from Apple at the next event in October.

Read on after the ad.

Many more products from Apple in October

We actually knew this long before the iPhone 14 event on September 7, 2022: Not all of this year’s new Apple products would be announced at once. For us, it would have been almost too much of a good thing if Apple had crammed even more products into that night.

So we’re happy that there’s (almost certainly) another keynote coming in mid-October. In this article you can read everything about which products (and which software) we still have credit from Apple during an event in October.

Two iPads coming in October

We’ve been hearing rumors about a new iPad for a long time. So if we have anything left from Apple’s keynote in October, it would have to be a new iPad. For example, there was initially talk about an iPad Pro 2022 with an M2 processor. This would be two versions with different screen types. The 11-inch variant will get an LCD screen and the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will reportedly get a screen with mini-LED technology and even MagSafe.

For the Apple event in October, we think we’ll also see a new ‘normal’ iPad. Like other new iPads, this iPad 2022 will have a USB-c port instead of the ‘obsolete’ Lightning connection. This also makes it possible to connect your iPad to external displays.

MacBook Pro at Apple event in October

The second Apple event in October will also be dominated by a 14-inch and a 16-inch MacBook Pro. According to all the rumors, these would get the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. We were already spoiled this year with a MacBook Air 2022 with the new regular M2 chip. Unfortunately, we haven’t picked up many more details about the new MacBook Pro yet. We hope to be able to say soon whether we will indeed see these during an event in October.

Security: iPadOS 16.1 and macOS 13 Ventura

iOS 16, watchOS 9 and tvOS 16 have already launched this week! However, you used to wonder where iPadOS 16 is. Usually a major iPadOS update comes along with the iOS update in September. Apple has confirmed that the release of iPadOS 16 has been delayed.

The big reason for delaying iPadOS 16 is the development of the Stage Manager feature. This is reportedly taking longer than Apple originally hoped. Stage Manager ensures that you can use multiple apps on the iPad at the same time with floating windows. iPadOS skips version 16.0 immediately, iPadOS 16.1 will appear in October.

We will also see Stage Manager on macOS 13 Ventura. This makes the iPad and the Mac more and more similar. We expect this software for your Mac to be available shortly after Apple’s October keynote.

Silent hope for Apple keynote: Apple Reality

We’ve been hearing a lot about Apple Reality Glasses lately and are happy that we can finally give it a real name. The mixed reality glasses are Apple’s big bet in the VR/AR headset market. Very powerful chips, 14 cameras to track your eyes and film the outside world and 8K screens should ensure a smooth transition from AR to VR and back.

We honestly don’t think Apple is going to announce this headset yet. For the introduction of a completely new product line, Apple takes plenty of time and does not hide it in a keynote with iPads and a MacBook Pro. Yet we secretly still have a little bit of hope.
