These features will get the iPhone 15 (if we can believe iOS 17)

Apple officially announced iOS 17 during WWDC 2023 with many new features. And the cool thing is: iOS 17 secretly reveals a bit more about the iPhone 15.

Read on after the ad.

This reveals iOS 17 about the iPhone 15

You have to wait until September before Apple officially shows the iPhone 15. Exactly what new functions the iPhone 15 series will receive is not yet known. But iOS 17 secretly tells us a bit more about the iPhone 15.

1. Always on screen coming to all iPhones

One of the new parts in iOS 17 that can reveal something about the iPhone 15 is the Standby function. When you tilt the iPhone and connect it to the charger, you see full-screen information. This is useful, for example, if you regularly put your iPhone on your bedside table. You can then use it as a kind of information hub and show different types of clocks, favorite photos or widgets.

This feature works best with an always-on screen, but it also works on regular iPhones without this screen. With the always on screen, your iPhone doesn’t go black when you lock the iPhone, but you see the time and the wallpaper. This mode consumes very little battery, but you can still see the screen. At the moment, the always-on screen is only available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

If iOS 17 is to be believed, this always-on feature should actually come to all versions of the iPhone 15 to work best. We secretly hope so, but maybe it’s still a bit too early and we have to wait until the iPhone 16 or iPhone 17 until they all get this feature.

2. Dynamic Island will soon be available for everyone

Apple has given the Dynamic Island in iOS 17 a major update. For example, more apps (such as Shazam and music recognition) work with the new version of the notch.

The Dynamic Island is therefore getting more and more things and with the iPhone 15 it really seems to replace the notch with every version. In addition, various rumors also indicate that all versions of the iPhone 15 will get a Dynamic Island.

3. Camera gets upgraded with new features

Apple announced the Apple Vision Pro during WWDC 2023. These VR glasses from Apple are very similar to (very expensive) ski goggles, but they can do so much more. The company’s first mixed reality headset is incredibly advanced and runs on the new visionOS. This new OS version has been specially developed for the headset and has modified versions of apps such as FaceTime and Photos.

One of the fun possibilities is watching three-dimensional videos in these glasses. This makes it look like you’re really in the video. The new camera in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will probably get the function to make these special 3D videos for the Apple Vision Pro.
