Xiaomi supplies its devices with Android. It has its own MIUI skin over it. A new version of that own skin has now been announced, in which we are introduced to MIUI 13. Xiaomi also immediately announces which devices will receive it first.

MIUI 13

After the announcement of the Xiaomi 12 series, it is time for another announcement from Xiaomi. The manufacturer has presented MIUI 13, a new version of its own skin. The new version should ensure that it works even better with other devices of the company, such as telephones, tablets, wearables, smart home devices and televisions. According to the manufacturer, extra attention has been paid to the privacy aspect.

It is possible to opt for a three-step verification process, with which the safety of users should be guaranteed even better, the manufacturer promises. For example, facial recognition can detect more than just the face, looking from the waist down. With the new fraud protection, users must be protected against malicious telephone numbers. It is not known whether all features will be available in all countries. The manufacturer has been discredited several times about privacy, with Follow The Money recently ringing the bell that numerous personal data was exchanged with Chinese servers.

MIUI 13 MI Sans

For example, new in MIUI 13 is the new font, which should offer a simplified display. Furthermore, the manufacturer has worked on improvements to colors, with new background options. For example, a flower may bloom on the left side of the screen when the screen is turned on. Xiaomi has also renewed the widgets and MIUI 13 should also be optimized for devices with a folding screen and tablets.

Rollout

Xiaomi has announced that 19 devices will receive the update first. The roll-out for this will start in the first quarter of 2022, but an exact date is not mentioned. The models below will qualify for this. It is not known when the list will be expanded further. There is not yet a word about Poco devices.
