These are the 10 best gas providers in Germany

Whether for end consumers, politicians or energy companies: The fluctuating energy prices have caused explosives in the past few months. In our weekly ranking, we show you the ten best gas providers in Germany.

The heating season has already started. Due to the mild temperatures, the situation is still reasonably relaxed in view of the fluctuating energy prices. But the colder it gets, the more gas is needed in Germany. It is therefore worth taking a look and comparing the various providers.

The best gas providers in Germany

Due to rising energy prices and concerns about security of supply, the number of gas suppliers for new customers is low. While 60 providers were still offering gas in Germany in 2021, there were only 16 in September 2022.

With regard to the variety of offers, the German Society for Consumer Studies (DtGV) analyzed the prices, service quality and also the sustainability of the tariffs offered in a current evaluation. The corresponding score ranges up to a rating of 100 percent. In the following ranking we show you which ten providers performed best.

Place 10: Vattenfall Europe Sales GmbH

The European energy group Vattenfall Europe Sales currently employs around 19,000 people. The provider currently obtains energy from the following sources: wind, water, biomass, nuclear power, coal and gas. Vattenfall is one of the best gas suppliers in Germany 42 percent in tenth place.
