Top Three Best Features Android 12

Here we go! Below are the best functionalities we have been able to find so far.

1. Privacy Dashboard

Apple is actually better regarded with iOS than Android in terms of privacy. The company is now trying to catch up. Called the privacy dashboard, it’s like the “digital wellbeing” for apps that access your permissions. A new function within Android 12. For example, you can see which apps have constant access to your location data and how often those pings occur during the day. You can find this feature in your settings.

2. Material You

Yep, this is the new design. We don’t think it’s quite finished yet, but it’s starting to look like it. You will now see more customizations that are possible. To get there, long click on the home screen. Then choose Background and Style.

Material You isn’t quite you yet, but there’s a lot more in the second beta compared to the first. You won’t get the full range of tweaks we’ve seen in renders, but I’m sure you will in the final version. Choose a photo that you get from your album or one from Google. After you select an image, Android will choose a color that matches the background.

3. Indicators

Not new, because iOS already has it. But it cannot be missing from the list of best functions in Android 12, because now the system also has indicators. It happens that apps that run in the background still have access to your camera and/or phone. Very undesirable. This can happen even if you are already busy in another app. Now you get to see if that is the case with an indicator. It appears when an app is actively using the camera or microphone. Once minimized, it will appear as a small green dot.
