Android

these functions will be added to your iPhone soon

iOS 16 has not been out that long, but we will soon be able to install the first interim update. The second iOS 16.1 beta has now been released. What exactly is new?

Read on after the ad.

iOS 16.1 beta 2

One of the new features of iOS 16 is the ability to put the battery percentage in the status bar. At least: that is possible with most iPhones. As of iOS 16.1, the battery indicator is also available for the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini, as the first beta of iOS 16.1 has already revealed.

In the second beta, Apple has again worked on the battery icon. Now with iOS 16, the battery icon remains with the percentage full, which is confusing. The icon only changes when the battery drops below 20 percent.

Battery icon moves again

In iOS 16.1, Apple has addressed this. The icon again indicates the battery status and is no longer always full. If the battery percentage is 75 percent, then the battery icon is also three-quarters full. Apple has also changed the font of the battery icon, making it slightly larger.

Clipboard notifications

Apple also fixes an issue with iOS 16.1 that requires frequent permissions to access the clipboard. You no longer have to explicitly approve every copy and paste attempt. This bug fix is probably also in an update that will appear next week: that will be iOS 16.0.2.

The bug with the shaking iPhone 14 Pro camera has not yet been fixed in the iOS 16.1 beta 2. However, Apple has said that the problem will be solved next week, so that will also be in iOS 16.0.2.
