The smartphone of the Classiq Marketing Manager

In the “Homescreen!” series we take a look at the smartphones of people from the social media, marketing and tech industries – including app recommendations and tips for everything from to-do lists to small games in between. Today: Erik Garcell, Technical Marketing Manager at Classiq.

Eric Garcell: A colorful journey through my digital universe! If my phone screen is the window to my soul, then everyone should brace themselves for a delightful safari through my digital wilderness.

The tour starts with two of my practical helpers, the Apple apps Weather and calendar. They are always there, one predicting the weather, the other announcing important events – like my long-awaited board game day.

Next we have my dynamic duo, the Apple apps camera and photos. Your task? They capture and store all the action at the numerous conferences I attend. A snapshot and a swipe, and the evidence of my networking skills is online.

The apps notes and Memories are the hardworking assistants I never thought I would need. They carry the brunt of my constant brainstorming sessions and conveniently store my ever-growing to-do list.

In the meantime, the clock app bravely making sure I don’t oversleep, especially during the seven o’clock meetings with Tokyo, which are far too early for my liking. Who needs sleep anyway.

Keeping up to date is important in my job and here come the Apple apps News and podcast in the game. I won’t deny that there’s a certain feeling to saying, ‘Oh, that message? I heard it on my morning podcast.”

My financial gatekeepers, the banking and credit card apps, have their own VIP folder, right next to the hospitality trio of the hotel, flight, and Uber apps. They keep my life running smoothly while traveling while the media folder keeps me entertained during the trip – Movies on board? Yes, please!

A story behind every app

My All-Stars are rounded off by Monday.com (for Android), Slack (for Android), gmail (for Android), Spotify (for Android) and Whatsapp (for Android). These are my workhorses that keep me constantly juggling, updating and informing.

Still, it’s the camera app that gets the Most Used trophy for chronicling my adventures in the tech wilderness. So thats it. A fast-paced tour of my phone, my technical universe, which is a true testimony of my life as Technical Marketing Manager at Classiq. And don’t forget: behind every app icon there is a story just waiting to be told. Or tweeted. Or posted. Or… well, you know!
