the Ministry of Transport suffered a second cyberattack
Iran is currently facing several cyber attacks. Recently, one of them hit the national railway company. Barely a day later, it was the Iranian Ministry of Transport website that the hackers then hit. According to state television, it would be a “cyber disturbance”.
According to the television station, the attack targeted the computer systems of the staff of the Ministry of Roads and Town Planning. This had the effect of rendering the portal and sub-portals of the ministry site unavailable. However, no official has yet indicated what could be the origin of the attack. In addition, no ransom demand has yet been requested.
Iran expects more potential cyberattacks
As a reminder, Iran’s rail services suffered a disruption last Friday. Hackers had posted false delay notices on station signs. The national railway company, however, wanted to reassure that only the screens suffered the malfunction. The trains, on the other hand, were operating normally.
Reuters reports that Mohammad Javad Azari-Jahromi, the Ministry of Telecommunications, has warned of further ransomware attacks until vulnerabilities in computer systems are addressed.
In any case, Iran declares itself to be on high alert because of these cyber attacks of which it has once blamed the United States and Israel. For their part, the United States and other Western countries have also accused Iran of trying to disrupt and break into their networks.
