The LIAZ car from the Paris-Dakar Rally -apkrig is heading to SnowRunner

Another famous Czech car is heading to SnowRunner. Modder Zidon already has a number of successful cars that have expanded the local garage, and now, together with a colleague who calls himself Barek532, he is preparing a LIAZ car, which took part in the Paris-Dakar Rally for the first time in 1985. The original model comes from the CGTrader database and was created by Richard Homola. His purchase for this purpose was sponsored by Lukáš Ruščák, but of course the work on the mod did not end there.

As Zidon pointed out, the original model has approximately 3 million polygons and high-resolution textures, which is too much for SnowRunner. Barek532 therefore began to simplify it and reduced the number of polygons to about 250,000. It has more than 800 parts. Textures are also being redesigned, Zidon added. There is still a lot of work to be done on the mode. It is necessary to fine-tune various details, suspension and the whole interior must be completed.

Therefore, the authors cannot promise when the project will be completed. However, he knows for sure that it will also work on consoles, but here players have to settle for unofficial ads due to licenses. The car will also not be called LIAZ. Zidon estimates that they have already invested tens of hours in the Dakar special at the moment, and as a result it could be hundreds.

According to Zidon, many players don’t even realize how much work such a mod entails. You can find more details about his work and the possibilities of supporting the authors on the profile of this modder. Of course, we kept the best until the end. In the gallery you can see the first pictures of the Dakar LIAZ car and also an older video from testing the prototype.
