Instagram will have more ads coming to a place they haven’t been before

Company Facebook with the growing popularity of the service Instagram integrates more and more ads into its application. According to the portal Engadget they were also given the function of short videos Reels, which is known in our country as the “film strip”. Ad units can be up to 30 seconds long and will appear directly between the videos you watch Reels.

The popularity of short vertical videos was started by the TikTok service

Reels’s short few seconds are a copy and competition of the popular Chinese service TikTok. Their creators try to attract other users with some creative idea. They can also be used for music and various effects, which can enhance the video for 15 to 30 seconds. This type of video is gaining more and more popularity due to its brevity and portrait orientation, which is an advantage when viewed on a smartphone.

The ads will look and interact with Reels itself

Instagram has been testing Reels ads for several weeks in selected markets such as India, Germany or Australia. Like Stories ads, Reels ads are vertical, full-screen, and are up to 30 seconds long. Their appearance is thus the same as in the case of the Reels videos themselves. You can also skip them with one click or interact with them.

You can comment, like, save or share them with other users via Direct messaging. Brands and companies that sell their products through ads in Reels can place a button at the bottom to redirect the user to their online store. You’ll also see a small “Sponsored” sign below your business profile name in a similar way to other Instagram ads.

It is questionable how very negative Instagram users will react to the further increase in advertising, which has been appearing directly between the posts themselves for several years. However, for the owner of the service, Facebook is an important source of income and its business is based on it. At the beginning of the year, she started testing advertising stickers in Stories and had previously inserted ads into the Instagram search channel.
