The forgotten phone: Samsung SGH-E530 from 2005

Do you remember the Samsung SGH-E530? This telephone was available in different colors and appeared in 2005. We discuss this ladyphone extensively in ‘The forgotten telephone’ this week, because there is enough to tell about it.

In 2005 Samsung released the Samsung SGH-E530, a real ‘fashionable’ phone, provided with a cover. The folding device was released in a number of colors; orange, blue, silver and pink. The design ensured that the phone was marketed as a lady phone. Jadwiga informs us that the device appeared with a telephone pendant from Otazu. One promotion was that you could get a bracelet.

Jadwiga has shared some more pictures of the Samsung E530 with us. The valve unit has a color screen on the outside with, among other things, the display of the clock. When opened, the display appeared with 256 thousand colors and a resolution of 220 x 176 pixels. Above the keyboard were the option and navigation keys. The middle key, the familiar ‘i’, immediately launched the browser.

The Samsung SGH-E530 appeared with about 84MB of memory and a 1 megapixel camera. This one offered an LED flash. Furthermore, the phone was promoted with the recording and sending of photos and the MP3 player that was on board the device. You could use the EDGE network and Bluetooth. The battery capacity of the Samsung E530 was 820 mAh.

For the women there was a special application, The Woman Life. With this you could, among other things, keep track of the menstrual calendar, fill in your activities and keep track of what you have eaten and drunk, in order to remain aware of your calories. Furthermore, the application made it possible to keep track of your shopping list.

The E530 from Samsung was received enthusiastically because of its design and the extensive possibilities that the device had to offer. This Samsung had a price tag of around 300-350 euros.
