new life for Google Reader?

Google Reader was a popular RSS reader for keeping track of your favorite websites years ago. Now Google seems to want to use functionality of this tool in the Chrome browser.

Google Chrome with RSS reader?

Many years ago, the Google Reader service was a popular application for updating news via RSS. Still, a few years ago, Google decided it was time to pull the plug. For example, while Feedly is a decent alternative, the service is still missed.

Google is now confirming that a new feature for Google Chrome is being worked on. In the Canary version of Chrome, a new feature will be visible to some users in the near future. It is about the possibility to follow another site. You can find the followed pages in a special tab in the Chrome browser.

Once the decision has been taken to roll out the feature widely, websites will receive guidelines from Google to meet the requirements to be included in the feature. For now, there will be tests first, according to Google.
