The 2022 iPad would have a larger screen, the A14, 5G and USB-C

The 10th generation iPad will see the light of day in 2022 and details about it have been shared. It’s about the chip, the screen, the connectivity and the abandonment of the Lightning.

According 9to5Mac, the 2022 iPad will be entitled to a 10.5-inch screen. In comparison, the existing model has a 10.2-inch screen. It remains to be seen if Apple will keep the current design with the prominent borders around the screen and the Home button with Touch ID, or if a new design is planned. Other iPads have thinner bezels and Touch ID on the power button.

Among the other novelties, there would be the A14 chip. This made its debut with the iPhone 12 and is also found with the iPad Air 4. In comparison, the iPad 9 has the A13 chip. On the other hand, the new 2022 model would support 5G, which would be a first for Apple’s entry-level tablet. It would also be a question of the USB-C port instead of the Lightning port. Again, this would be a first for the entry-level iPad. All iPads would have a USB-C port.

The presentation of the new iPad will probably be in the fall. But there is no exact date yet.
