Apple’s music service has had a major expansion

On March 28, Apple finally launched Apple Music Classical. The new music service is specifically intended for streaming classical music. In total, there are more than 5 million classic songs and works in the new app, which can be listened to in the highest sound quality (up to 192 kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless).

You get Apple Music Classical completely free with your Apple Music subscription. Spotify still lacks this function, making Apple Music just a little more attractive. For example, are you a fan of certain classic film music, such as Harry Potter? Then Apple Music is the best choice for you.

2. More background information available in Apple Music

Are you curious about the story behind a song? Or for more background information about the artist? Then Apple’s music service is the right place for you. In Apple Music you have the option to read more information about your favorite album or your favorite artist. In Spotify you often do not have this option or only limited.

You request background information in Apple Music by tapping an album. There you will be presented with a description that puts the song or album in context and provides information about the artist. 3. Spotify is more difficult to operate

In Apple Music, you can see new music, old songs you like, and related artists all at a glance on the Home screen. This is no longer the case with Spotify these days, because the app has recently received a new interface.

The new design is somewhat similar to TikTok and is not very clear. If you prefer an organized home screen, Apple Music is a better choice than Spotify. It is not yet clear whether Spotify will retain the new interface. Given the criticism, it is to be expected that the layout of Spotify’s home screen will still be adjusted.

Lossless Audio is a special kind of music file in which no details are lost. Normally, a reduced version of the recording is used on streaming services, so that it requires less storage and uses less data.

At Spotify you listen to music in 320kbps with a Premium subscription. With Apple Music it is slightly less by default: 256kpbs. But with Lossless you still have a much higher sound quality with Apple Music. So if you want to listen to your favorite music in the best quality, Apple Music is the place to be.

Prices Apple Music and Spotify are almost the same

If you look at the subscriptions, Spotify and Apple Music are almost equal. As an individual you now pay 9.99 euros on Spotify, but the company has already indicated that it will raise that price this year to 10.99 euros. You also get an individual subscription to Apple Music 10.99 euros per month.

The rest of the prices are also exactly the same as with Apple Music after the upcoming price changes at Spotify. As a family you now pay 14.99 euros at Spotify, but that will be soon 15.99 euros. You also pay with Apple Music 15.99 euros. As a student you pay 4.99 euros at Spotify and that price will also increase by one euro this year. You then pay, just like with Apple Music, 5.99 euros per month. Spotify does have a small advantage, because you can take an account for two people. You then pay 12.99 euros per month.

Free Apple Music
