Spotify HiFi is still not here, as 2021 ends

In February, Spotify announced its HiFi offer to have lossless audio and had mentioned a launch for 2021. It is December 24 and the offer is still not available. Worse, the streaming service remains silent on the subject.

But where is Spotify HiFi?

When Spotify announced its offer, there was talk of a launch in 2021 with a few countries to start. The service had also promised to share new details soon. There was none of that. But it is possible that the competition had an impact.

In the month of June, Apple Music added Lossless to its service, allowing subscribers to enjoy lossless audio. There is no price increase, it is included in the offer. On the same day, Amazon Music responded to Apple Music’s announcement by offering the same. Again, there was no additional cost.

Then comes the question: Did Apple Music and Amazon Music force Spotify to revise its plans? It is possible that the streaming service intended to offer its HiFi offer as a supplement. If so, then he knows he needs to revisit his plans because the competition is offering it at no extra cost. This requires further negotiations with the record companies.

Who knows, maybe Spotify will give its subscribers a gift by announcing the availability of the HiFi offer for Christmas or by January 31. Waiting for, The verge asked the platform on the subject, but she refuses to comment.
