Sponsored – Tasty and healthy: eye-catching treats with fruit and vegetables

Unhealthy treats are passé. You can’t get away with a bag of chips. And that doesn’t make coming up with a fun, original and creative treat to hand out any easier. Fortunately, Lidl has three very nice tips. These treats are full of fruit and vegetables, look very nice and more importantly: are not difficult to make. You happy, child(ren) happy! And the tastiest seasonal fruit and vegetables? You can get them at Lidl, always fresh and for the lowest price.

Pirate ship with fruit

Ay, ay, captain! How tough is this pirate ship? And healthy too, because it is filled to the brim with fruit.

This is what you need:

  • 1 large watermelon
  • 2 apples
  • Blue grapes
  • White grapes
  • Pineapple
  • 2 nectarines
  • 3 kiwis
  • Long, sturdy (skewer) skewers
  • Black paper
  • Tape or glue
  • Optional: (pirate) cups

This is how you make it:

Cut off the top of the watermelon just above halfway. Also cut a slice from the bottom. This way the boat is stable. Hollow out the bottom piece (this will be the boat) completely and keep the flesh.

Then cut a piece from the peel on both sides. The watermelon now takes the shape of a ship. Cut the sails from the remaining husk and secure them in the boat with the skewers. Take a piece of black paper and cut flags out of it. Stick this on the end of the masts. Put a thick skewer in the front of the bow and a thicker piece in the back. Now you have a real pirate ship.

Cut the remaining fruit into pieces and fill the pirate ship with it. Oh yes, you can make a perfect stir from a slice of kiwi. At the boat you can serve pirate cups, in which the fruit can be distributed.

Banana dolphins

Is your child a real animal lover? These banana dolphins are so much fun, easy to make and you don’t need much. Perfect if you remember the day before that you have another treat to arrange. oops, we’ve all been there.

This is what you need:

  • Banana
  • Strawberry
  • White grapes
  • Blue grapes
  • Blueberries
  • Dish
  • Napkins

This is how you make it:

Cut the stem of the bananas straight and then make a slit in the stem. This will be the dolphin’s mouth. Cut off a piece from the other side of the banana, so it stays standing better. Place the bananas with the flat side in a bowl with a napkin. Put a grape in the created mouth and fill the bowl with strawberries, grapes and blueberries. How fun?!

Pickles hedgehog

Healthy, tasty and mega-cute. Do we need to say more? We already thought! With this hedgehog full of fruit and vegetables you (well, your child) really steal the show at school or daycare.

This is what you need:

  • Galia melon
  • Lemon
  • Black olives
  • gingerbread
  • Sausage
  • White grapes
  • Cucumber
  • Raisins
  • Cheese
  • Cherry tomato
  • Pickers

This is how you make it:

Cut off a piece of the melon so that it can lie down better. Then place the melon on a nice platter. Cut off the bottom of the lemon and fasten it with two skewers at the front. With the raisins you can make two eyes and you can make a nose from a black olive.

Then you fill the melon completely with skewers. Fill one part with grapes, strawberries and gingerbread pieces, the other part with tomatoes, cucumber pieces, cheese, sausage, olives and grapes. Share it!
