Now it’s official: Samsung will hold the next Unpacked Event on August 11th. A short teaser video already reveals which special products will be presented to us on that day. For Samsung, however, this day is also a turning point that was previously not thought possible.
Samsung event on August 11th with two folding cell phones
Samsung normally introduces its Note series in August each year. Not this year. Everything will be different in 2021, because the Note series is dead. Samsung has never officially confirmed this, but the introduction of the S Pen in the Galaxy S series and the lack of a new Note smartphone this year are important signs of this. Instead, a new era begins. Foldable smartphones are the future. You now own the second half of the year, while the Galaxy S series should delight normal customers at the beginning of the year.
A teaser that has now been published confirms this assumption. In the following Video Samsung clearly indicates the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. You can see the foldable tablet, which becomes a smartphone, and the smartphone, which can be folded up:
At the same time, Samsung teases in this video the colors in which the new models should appear. A little more variety should cover a larger group of buyers. In terms of price, it should probably be a little cheaper. So that Note fans get their money’s worth, the S Pen should be supported on the Galaxy Z Fold 3. Allegedly, the folding cell phones are even waterproof. Samsung creates Bit by bit the disadvantages of the predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Buds 2
My personal highlight will not be the foldable smartphones, but the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. This also marks the beginning of a new era for Samsung. These are completely newly developed smartwatches that match the new Google Wear operating system appear and become fully compatible with Android smartphones. This massively improves the cohesion of the devices.
In addition to the smartwatches, the Galaxy Buds 2 wireless headphones will also be on display. Samsung wants to attack Apple’s AirPods and convince them with new features. It is expected, for example active noise cancellation. GIGA will inform you of all announcements that day.
