Lifehack: cheap an Apple Watch Ultra

We have already shown that you can buy a fake Apple Watch Ultra for about 50 euros. But the downside of that was that the software is really bad.

With the following lifehack you use your own Apple Watch to change into an Apple Watch Ultra. Then you have the cool look of the Ultra and also the familiar software of a real Apple Watch.

To make such an Apple Watch Ultra, you need an Apple Watch. It must be a 44mm or 45mm Apple Watch. You can’t turn a smaller Apple Watch into an Ultra this way.

Alpine loop strap and special housing

Then you only need two things: the Alpine strap and the case. The strap is for sale everywhere, including at AliExpress for 0.09 euros (with a first order).

The Apple Watch Ultra also has a completely different housing from previous Apple smartwatches. But how do you get a suitable housing that has the same look?

Simple: you can buy an Apple Watch Ultra housing that you click around your Apple Watch as protection. AliExpress currently sells this special ‘Watch protector with the look of an Apple Watch Ultra’ for about 15 euros with a first order.

You click this protective cover over your own Apple Watch and then slide the included, special Digital Crown onto it. You have then made your own Apple Watch Ultra very cheaply, for less than 15 euros.

Make sure you choose the right size for the housing. At the moment, the special Ultra housing is only available in 45mm and 44mm. So check the size of your Apple Watch in advance. You can find the dimensions in the Watch app on your iPhone (‘My Watch > All Apple Watches’) or on the watch packaging.

Only the appearance, not the exclusive features

So you only have the appearance of an Apple Watch Ultra. Of course you miss the exclusive features of the Ultra. These include a larger screen, longer battery life and a titanium case. Do you want those features too? Then there really is no other option than to buy a real Apple Watch Ultra.
