these are the stylish Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo

Motorola announced the new Edge 30 series devices on Thursday evening. We have already been able to play with it, and share our first experiences with the Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra preview

During the announcement of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Fusion and Neo, a lot of attention was paid to the Ultra. And that is not very strange, considering that Motorola has packed this device with many possibilities and technical highlights. The manufacturer pulls out all the stops to score, and we see that reflected in this device. This is reflected in the lightning fast charging with 125W, a 144Hz OLED screen and of course the 200 megapixel camera.

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is equipped with a 6.67-inch screen and everything happens on it. The phone feels lightning fast and tasks are completed quickly. When you have the phone in your hands, it really feels like a premium device. The edges did feel a bit sharper in the beginning. At first glance, the camera also seems to display excellent images, although we will of course test this with the review model. Edge Lights is a feature reminiscent of Samsung’s, where the screen edges light up with new notifications. This was a bit more difficult to see on the somewhat glossy table on which we saw the devices, so we will also pay attention to this in the review device.

Given the whole package of specifications, this Motorola Edge 30 Ultra gives you everything you want. Our first impression is very good with the device and we are looking forward to the moment when we receive the review sample of the Edge 30 Ultra. Because with a price of 899.99 euros, it is clearly priced lower than the competitors with high-end specs. In addition, the update policy with three OS updates and four years of security updates that appear every two months, is excellent.

Motorola Edge 30 Fusion

The second model in a row is the Motorola Edge 30 Fusion, a smartphone with a similar design and also good specifications. It is an alternative to the high-end smartphone, where you don’t have to dig deep into your pouch. That does not alter the fact that 599.99 euros is still a large expense.

We have seen the different colors and the blue one stands out the most. It has a vegan leather back. This leather look reminds me of the LG G4, where this device is not only comfortable in the hand, it is something different than a back of glass or plastic. The screen is a tad smaller than that of the Ultra, but at 6.5 inches still nice and large. Content is displayed beautifully and tasks are also performed quickly with this smartphone. The Snapdragon 888+ takes care of this, along with the 12GB of RAM.

Motorola Edge 30 Neo

The Motorola Edge 30 Neo is a beautiful device to look at, and that is mainly due to the color choice in which the smartphone appears. Personally, I like the mint green pantone color a lot, although the more neutral colors are certainly not ugly. Most of the focus is on the color Very Peri, the color of the year 2022.

On the back of the Neo you can see which color you are dealing with exactly. Of course, the device feels slightly less fast than the Ultra and the Fusion, but the Neo is certainly not slow. In addition, it still has the many useful quirks as the other two models. This means that you can shake the device before turning on the flashlight or one of the many other useful gestures and actions.

As with the other two models in the Edge series, you can double tap under the camera module in the background of the device to start an application of your choice. It is clear that we should not see the Motorola Edge 30 Neo as a ‘pathetic model at the bottom of the segment’, but we are really dealing here with a promising device, the expectations of which are high at Motorola. Not very surprising, because with a price of 399 euros you get a very complete smartphone.
