Snapchat comes with two small but fun new features

Snapchat gets two new features. For example, you can have a colleague make a video in which the images adapt to the rhythm of the music. The other feature makes it easier to add matching sounds and audio clips to Snaps.

Two new features

In a blog post, Snapchat announces that two new functions for Snapchat are coming. These are ‘Sounds Sync for Camera Roll’ and ‘Sounds Recommendations for Lenses’. Below we briefly explain what you can do with the functions.

Sounds Sync for Camera Roll

With Sounds Sync for Camera Roll you will soon be able to create a collage in which the images adapt to the rhythm of the music. This happens completely automatically, although you do get to choose between different music tracks from the Sounds-Library. According to Snapchat, users will soon be able to choose four to twenty photos or videos and have them made into a collage.

Sounds Recommendations for Lenses

Sounds Recommendations for Lenses – or Sound Recommendations for Lenses – allows you to find appropriate music for a particular photo and/or video. It will soon be possible for ‘Snappers’ to gain access to many sounds and music. This works once you start using a particular Snapchat lens. For this, matching audio fragments will soon be accessible that match the chosen lens.

Availability

The two new features will be available in March for the Snapchat app of both Android and iOS. Snapchat itself also reports the following about the new features:

“By expanding the new Sounds experiences, Snapchat is making it easier and faster for Snapchatters to discover and share the music they love with friends. (…) Snapchat has created a unique opportunity for artists to reach a valuable and engaged audience, while also encouraging fans to listen to the full song on streaming services.”
