simultaneously use your account on more phones

A welcome improvement being tested by WhatsApp. It brings the ability to use WhatsApp on multiple phones at the same time. Earlier, an option was added to use WhatsApp on your computer if your phone is not connected.

WhatsApp on more phones at the same time

Finally it seems to be coming; WhatsApp is getting an option to use your WhatsApp account on multiple phones at the same time. That is still impossible at the moment, but parent company Meta is now testing this functionality. It is already possible to connect your WhatsApp account to your computer, for example, but connecting multiple phones and using them at the same time is not yet possible.

The fact that the test is now being held does not mean that everyone can already use the function. At this time, the functionality is available in beta for some users, but not for everyone. It is also not possible to force this. When the function is available, the user will see the option to link an existing device when setting up WhatsApp (after installation). This option then replaces the option to enter a telephone number. Through this so-called Companion Mode, the device is added to the account and can (simultaneously) receive and send messages.

The function is a useful addition for, for example, users with a second telephone, for example a business device. They can then simply add their personal WhatsApp account on a second phone. At the moment it is not clear when WhatsApp will roll out the feature widely. It may well be that this will take weeks or even months.
