Twitter is testing a feature that allows users to create a ‘Twitter Circle’. This means that your tweet is only visible to a select group, such as your friends.

Twitter Circle

Twitter just announced the update on – wherever else – Twitter. The feature allows you to add up to 150 people to your Twitter Circle. Tweets you share with your Twitter Circle are only visible to this group.

The feature is very reminiscent of Instagram’s “Best Friends” feature, which shows your Stories only to your selected followers.

Twitter says that the Twitter Circle is already available to some users today. If you tap the plus button at the bottom right to add a tweet, a pop-up may appear: ‘Want to share with a smaller crowd?’ Then choose ‘Get Started’ and select a maximum of 150 followers for your Circle.

You can change the participants of your Twitter Circle at any time. If you remove someone, they will not receive a notification. It is not yet known when Twitter will roll out the feature more widely.

More features

Twitter Circle isn’t the only feature the developers of the popular social media platform are working on. Earlier, the company announced that it is finally working on a way to edit a Twitter message. A new subscription service was also introduced: Twitter Blue.

And with new owner Elon Musk, it won’t stop at these changes. In the article Twitter now belongs to Elon Musk (and this is going to change) you can read more about the possible consequences of the takeover.
