Samsung Says Goodbye to “Z” Addition to Galaxy Fold and Flip

Next week is the announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5. New information has now surfaced about the naming, with Samsung saying that it would refrain from using the addition ‘Z’ in the series. .

Samsung without Galaxy Z

If we go by the latest information, then something will change in the name at Samsung. It relates to the Galaxy Z series, where the Z indicates that it concerns foldable devices. It seems that Samsung no longer wants to use this name with the foldable smartphones. Instead, it would be the Galaxy Flip 4 and the Galaxy Fold 4. Earlier, Samsung had already removed the ‘Z’ from the name in several countries around Russia, because the letter Z is used by the Russian army as a military symbol, since Russia has invaded Ukraine.

It is not entirely clear whether this is directly related. It can also be for another reason; the ‘Z’ doesn’t have much to do with folding. Samsung would not want to print the Z logo on the box or use the name. The manufacturer has not responded to the messages; but given the announcement is next week, August 10, we’ll no doubt find out more then. The first Galaxy Fold also appeared without the Z addition.
