Samsung will go from 310 million smartphones produced to 280 million in 2022. It is a small correction. There is no specific line in the rollback of production. This means that less will be made of both the cheapest models and the most expensive models.
With this decision, Samsung is probably looking ahead to the rest of the year. After two years of corona, the economy will be presented with the bill. Life has become more expensive, which means that we are all more careful with things that we don’t need right away. Like a new phone for example.
To prevent Samsung from being left with a surplus of smartphones, the brand is already taking action by reducing production.
The war in Ukraine also plays an important role in this decision. There are no more deliveries of Samsung products in Russia at all. This will of course have an effect on the sales of the brand. In short, Samsung expects to take a step back this year compared to previous years.
