Samsung Galaxy Watch4 receives their first software update

Samsung Galaxy Watch4 a Watch4 Classic is the first smart watch Samsung with WearOS and this system seems to bring them the benefit of regular updates. According to the GSMAren portal, they receive their first software update less than a week after the performance. What does it bring?

The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series was introduced last week along with the new Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 folding smartphones. The expected improvement in them was the replacement of the long-term Tizen OS system with WearOS from Google. Samsung has used Google’s operating system in its watch in the past. However, it was an older Android Wear system.

As with Samsung smartphones, the new smart watches from this manufacturer do not have completely pure WearOS. The launcher One UI is still running above it. Thanks to it, the watch is better connected to the Samsung ecosystem and can, for example, synchronize the displayed dials with the external display Galaxy Z Flip3. The difference compared to other WearOS watches is also the used chipset – Exynos W920.

The update mainly fixes bugs in the system

Because of these two differences, Google and Samsung may need to work more closely with software updates. The first result of this cooperation is numbered R8xxXXU1BUH5. The update is 290 MB in size and should be available through the Galaxy Wearable app on a paired smartphone. The application should notify you automatically. Before updating, make sure that the watch is sufficiently charged.

In the update change list, Samsung mentions fixing several bugs in the system and improving its stability and performance. The manufacturer also writes about new or improved features in the WearOS system, which, however, does not specify. For Slovak customers, the most important feature they currently received with the introduction of the new watch is the support of the Google Pay payment system in WearOS in Slovakia.
