Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 gets major update with Galaxy Watch 5 function

Samsung has rolled out a number of Galaxy Watch 5 novelties to its Galaxy Watch 3. There are two new watch faces. Furthermore, snore detection has also been added and the synchronization of sports and health data has been improved.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Update

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was already allowed to sit down for an important update that contains improvements of the new Galaxy Watch 5. Now it is also the turn of the Galaxy Watch 3, even if this update is less extensive.

According to a changelog shared by Samsung, there are two new watch faces available for the Galaxy Watch 3: ‘¨Pro analog’ and ‘Gradient number’. These watch faces also contain information, only with this older smartwatch you can’t choose which sports and health data can be seen in the watch face, users report on Reddit.

Furthermore, Samsung has improved the exchange of data between the watch and your phone. More specifically, it concerns the activity data in the ‘Daily Activities’ menu of Samsung Health. Your watch has also received a snore detection function, even if it works slightly differently than on the Galaxy Watch 5. The function uses your phone’s microphone, while the Galaxy Watch 5 turns on the watch’s built-in microphone. The Galaxy Watch 3 does collect other health data while you sleep.

Availability

Samsung started last year with a clean slate when it launched its first Wear OS watch with the Galaxy Watch 4. It’s good to see the company still paying attention to its older watches that run on its own Tizen system.

Finally, Samsung wants to make the ECG function and blood pressure monitor available for the Galaxy Watch 3, but that will follow with a later update. The current update is now rolling out to use. Have you already received it on your watch? Let us know in the comments.
