Samsung today introduced the new available Galaxy Tab A8 tablet. It will attract attention with its attractive price, thanks to which it has become available and suitable, for example, for students for current home education. But don’t expect it to excel – it doesn’t have a premium chipset, display or cameras. It’s such a lower available class. The source is a press release from Samsung.

The display here is really big for such a cheap tablet – we are talking about a 10.5 ”TFT panel with FullHD + resolution. Waiting for AMOLED for such a price would be a lot, as well as a 90 or 120 Hz refresh rate. It is truly the basis for students and people who do not tolerate technology. The tablet has an aspect ratio of 16:10 and a thin frame, which ensures a display-to-body ratio of 80%.

It offers basic equipment

The whole thing is powered by an eight-core Unisoc Tiger T618 processor, which is not some powerful processor. However, it is enough to use a few basic applications as such.

The combination of four speakers with Dolby Atmos is also interesting, so even the most demanding users will be satisfied with the music and videos.

The tablet has a 7040 mAh battery, which we consider an average value. The device also supports 15 W charging, but it was an asterisk – you will find only a 7.5 W charger in the package. However, if you have a mobile phone older than 3 years, it is possible that you received at least the 15 W charger, so you probably won’t need the included charger.

The available tablets often lacked GPS, which is not the case with the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8. It has not only GPS, but also GLONASS or European Galileo. You can use this tablet as a car navigation device.

We haven’t remembered the cameras yet, just because they are really basic. There is an 8 MP autofocus sensor on the back and a 5 MP sensor on the front. It is still a better sensor than most laptops (we are also talking about expensive 1000+ € models).

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 also has pleasant dimensions and weight – 246.8 x 161.9 x 6.9 mm and a weight of 508 grams.

Parents are sure to enjoy the child activity monitoring feature. With the help of clear graphs, they will have an overview so that they know how much time their children have spent learning and how much, e.g. playing games. They can also set certain restrictions so that they do not use the tablet all day.

The tablet also supports multitasking in multiple windows. Multi-Active Window must be active. Then just drag the application from the edge to the center of the screen and the window will shrink, allowing you to open another application for it.
