Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra users are complaining about WiFi internet problems

Some owners of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra report problems with their new device. For some users, the problems are related to the internet connection. The phone then displays the message ‘connected without internet’. What exactly is going on?

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and do you sometimes experience problems with the internet connection? Then you are not alone. More and more users on the internet are reporting problems with the WiFi connection. Often a connection can be made, but a usable connection is not always there. This can be recognized by the text ‘connected without internet’, which then appears in the WiFi settings. Reconnecting manually solves the problem temporarily, but is not a permanent solution.

Looking at the origin of the complaints, they seem to be related to connecting to a WiFi 6 router. This type of router uses the WPA3 security standard, and that combination seems to cause problems with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. As far as we know, users of the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are not affected by this, although we cannot rule it out.

Samsung says it is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. There is a chance that this solution will already be solved with an upcoming update. We expect a new update for the Galaxy S23 series in the coming weeks, along with the March security update. Whether that will actually happen remains to be seen.
