Rocket scientist demonstrates smart cooker from two cans

Building a superior cooker with simple means. You will learn it in this video.

It has not escaped Robert Zubrin, known for the Mars Underground and remarkable inventions such as the vacuum washing machine, that we have an energy crisis in Europe.

Fortunately, he already had a solution on the shelf, which he shared in a LinkedIn post. He demonstrates in the video below. Recorded 10 years ago, a simple but very effective low-tech cooker that you can make with two tins and some aluminum foil.

Cooker of two cans as a rocket engine

It’s actually not that crazy, if you think about it. A rocket engine has quite a lot in common with a cooking appliance. The aim is to burn as much fuel as possible completely and to produce heat. There is indeed a beautiful jet flame coming from this stove.

With a tuft of pine needles, it is possible to bring water to a boil. This smart, simple stove allows you to extract up to five times as much energy from fuel. It works especially well with fuels that contain a lot of volatile oils, such as, indeed, pine needles.

Very useful for the Ukrainians, and for us on a camping holiday

The Ukrainians will probably be very happy with the stove, given the extremely brutal warfare techniques of dictator Putin and Russian general Sergey “General Armageddon” Soerovikin. In many Ukrainian cities, such as Kherson, there is a great lack of electricity and heat. A cooker with which you can generate five times as much heat is extremely welcome.

Then now the video. Spoiler alert: Zubrin indeed manages to cook an egg in a few minutes on just 30 g of pine needles. To add some excitement and sensation, he demonstrates his culinary delight a few feet away from a hand grenade, which is used in the United States for grenade fishing. What’s life without a little death contempt?
