Also good to know: If you take your phone number with you, you get 100 euros exchange bonus.

Signing a mobile phone contract just to finally get hold of a PS5 sounds like trickery at first. We have therefore calculated the offer and taken the popular o2 “Free M” tariff as an example, with Allnet and SMS flat rate as well as 20 GB 5G/LTE data volume for 39.99 euros per month. You can also choose other tariffs with more or less data volume.

To the offer at o2

Let’s get out the calculator: The PS5 Digital Edition costs around 400 euros – at least in theory, because it’s currently sold out everywhere and there just doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. The prices on eBay are around 700 euros, but for our calculation we use the RRP. The DualSense controller costs around 60 euros. If these values are subtracted from the total costs over a 24-month contract period, they remain 545.74 euros left for the tariff. Corresponding 22.74 euros per month for an Allnet and SMS flat rate with 20 GB LTE/5G data volume. The normal price for the “o2 Free M” tariff is 29.99 euros per month – so that’s a good deal, especially since the 100 euro exchange bonus is not even included here.

Of course, the calculation only works out if you cancel at the end of the minimum contract period. If you should forget that, the contract will not be extended by another year, but can be canceled monthly.

Notice that that Offer sold out very quickly last time. The PS5 is still completely out of stock at other retailers. We have summarized more deals on the subject of mobile phone contracts with consoles here:
