Here are the things you can try:
Reset your PS4 controller
First, try resetting your PS4 controller. Follow the steps below:
- Find the reset button on the back of the controller
- You can use a SIM card opener or a paper clip to push the button
- When you press the button using the proper tool, keep holding it for 5 seconds
- Plug the charging cable into the PS4 then plug it into the controller as well
- Press the PlayStation button on the controller
Reset your PS4
The next thing that can fix the issue is resetting your PS4 console. Do the following:
- Hold the Power off button for about 10 seconds to turn off your PS4
- Next, remove the power cord and wait for a couple of minutes
- Put the cord back in
- Turn on your PS4
- Plug the charging cable into the PS4 then plug it into the controller as well
- As the last step, press the PlayStation button on the controller
Start the console in the Safe mode and then connect your controller
Try this step only if the USB ports on the console are working right, if they don’t, skip this step. Here is what you need to do:

- When the console is off, press and hold the power button and keep holding it until you hear two beeps
- Next, connect your controller using the USB cable
