Powerbeats 2: Apple pays $ 9.75 million to close post-class-action arrangement
Apple begins to close an “arrangement” which had been decided in August 2020. Thousands of owners (or former owners) of Powerbeats 2 marketed in 2015 have just received the sum of 114.12 dollars in settlement of a dispute over malfunctions of the Beats intras. Shortly after the launch of the headphones, many users had indeed reported unexpected breakdowns but also major recharging or battery concerns.
As is often the case in the United States in this type of case, a class action procedure was then launched against Apple. This procedure was concluded in 2020 with a financial arrangement for a total amount of $ 9.75 million, an arrangement validated by the Superior Court of California. In recent days, several people have indicated that they have been notified of a payment of 114.2 dollars in their bank accounts, an amount corresponding to the settlement of the 2020 arrangement.
