Poco M4 Pro 5G official: budget phone with powerful specs
Poco has announced its new budget phone: the M4 Pro 5G. It has a 90 Hz screen, a 50 MP camera and a midrange chipset that supports 5G. The price is under 300 euros and we discuss what you need to know about the Poco M4 Pro 5G.

Poco presented a new mid-range car at an online event. As you’ve come to expect from Poco, the M4 Pro 5G has powerful specs when you consider the price. First of all, there is the screen. A 6.6 inch LCD panel with a Full HD resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The panel has a small notch in the middle and shows more colors thanks to the rich DCI-P3 color palette. The plastic housing has room for a 3.5 mm audio jack and a fingerprint scanner on the side.
The M4 Pro 5G works with a 2.4 GHz MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor that supports the fast 5G internet. Xiaomi has previously used that chipset in the Redmi Note 11 series, which has so far only been proposed in China. Poco markets its budget smartphone with different storage variants: 4 GB / 128 GB, 6 GB / 128 GB and 8 GB / 256 GB. It is not known which models will be marketed in the Netherlands.
5,000 mAh battery, 33W fast charging
The device continues to work on Android 11 and the Poco Launcher. Poco’s software shows more similarities to a bare-bones Android environment, compared to the launcher on Xiaomi devices. However, the phone does run on the MIUI shell. The M4 Pro has a 5,000 mAh battery. You can charge with the 33-watt fast charger. The phone 100 percent in 59 minutes according to Poco.
On the back of the Poco M4 Pro 5G is a camera with two lenses. The main one is a 50MP main camera, but there’s also an 8MP wide-angle sensor that takes images at a 119-degree angle. The phone can focus faster thanks to the infrared autofocus. At the front, Xiaomi’s Chinese subsidiary brand has opted for a 16 MP selfie camera.
Price and availability
The Poco M4 Pro 5G will be available in Power Black, Cool Blue and Poco Yellow colours. It is not yet known whether he will come to the Netherlands and Belgium. However, the prices in France are already known. According to Frandroid, you pay 229.90 euros for the model with 4 GB RAM and the version with 6 GB costs 269.90 euros.
