Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro parts are now available on iFixit

iFixit is not only known for having all kinds of handy manuals on how to fix something: you can also buy repair kits for various devices. The latest is that of Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. This way you can replace the screen or the battery yourself. That can greatly increase the life of your device and that’s good news for your wallet and the planet.

Repair kits iFixit

Of course those kits are not free: you have to pay something for them. However, you do get official parts from Google for that, with which iFixit has a partnership. That way, you can repair your smartphone as Google would do itself. The prices at iFixit are in dollars, but we put the converted euro price behind it:

Fix Pixel 7 battery

You may be wondering how that works with battery replacement: that is not just a matter of installing a new battery. After installation, when the phone is fully assembled again, you must charge it to 100 percent and then leave it in the charger for another two hours. Then you have to use your device until the battery is completely empty and then charge it again in one go to 100 percent.

If you want to repair your Pixel 7 (Pro) with such an iFixit kit now, you have to be quick. Many kits are already sold out. Probably (and hopefully) not so much because people already broke their Pixel, but because people probably buy it just to have it on hand in case they do.
