OPPO launches MagVOOC magnetic chargers, here’s how it works

OPPO presents a new range of wireless and magnetic chargers called ‘MagVOOC’. They come in a standing version, a more compact model and a power bank. All chargers already work with existing phones that support wireless charging.

OPPO makes wireless charging magnetic with the new MagVOOC chargers it presents at the Smart China expo. It’s an idea we saw before with the MagSafe wireless charger, but now OPPO is launching its own approach, which comes with more powerful fast charging performance.

The MagVOOC chargers come in the form of a standing charger, a smaller version in the form of a hockey puck and a power bank. The standing charger The compact version can charge with 20 watts of power, making it just as powerful as the power bank. The standing charger is the fastest of the three with a power of 40 watts, and in principle it charges a phone with a 4000 mAh battery in 56 minutes.

OPPO’s new chargers are also compatible with existing phones, but with the current generation of the brand they do not reach the maximum power when charging. For example, OPPO’s Find X3 series can charge with 30 watts. The chargers also support the qi standard, so you can also charge phones from other brands, but with a maximum power of 15 watts.

Air Charging

OPPO isn’t sharing any information yet regarding the pricing and availability of its new chargers, but the brand is already giving us a glimpse into technology coming in the future. OPPO’s Air Charging lets you charge with a power of 7.5 watts while simply holding your smartphone in the air. You can hold the phone in different ways, and it continues to charge, according to the brand. We know that Xiaomi is also working on such a technology.
